The world population is growing rapidly. There are nearly 7 billion people in the world today. Every year, the Earth family has 76 million new members. The main reason for this rapid growth is the fall in the death rate. As people are now better looked after, they live longer. The explosion of population has caused serious problems, especially for Third World countries. They lack food, housing, hospitals and schools. Large, poor families in these countries are living in poor conditions. The governments of developing countries need to raise their people’s awareness of the population explosion. A strict family planning should be introduced and the people should have access to safe, inexpensive birth control methods. Some countries in Asia have taken these measures and gained encouraging results. Let’s take Vietnam for example,
